About the artist
Hi! I’m Ceresa Rodriguez, and I’m an American artist from New York. I spend most of my time creating across multiple digital mediums, blending my love for retro technology, personal storytelling, and experimental design. My works draw inspiration from my childhood, my experiences with mental health and trauma, and the people closest to me.
Recently, I’ve come to realize that constantly trying to create isn’t really a sustainable process. Art grows from lived experience, and after years of isolation, I’ve come to learn that life itself is a crucial part of my creative process. I find inspiration in the everyday, the mundane, and the connections that come from it. What comes to mind when I think about my art and what I want it to question and shed light on are themes of individuality, empathy, self-acceptance, and shared experience, usually filtered through a time in which I did not exist, yet have nostalgia for nonetheless.
Currently, I’m studying at SUNY Purchase, continuing to explore how digital media can reflect on the complexity of human emotion and experience. My goal as a student and as an artist is the same: ask questions.
